Ranya is a one-year-old girl from Bucharest, Romania.

She was admitted to the Wolfson Medical Center through Save a Child’s Heart for evaluation and repair of her congenital heart disease in March of 2018.

Ranya came to Israel with her loving mother, Marina, while her father, Bilal, who own a family coffee shop and restaurant took care of her four-year-old brother, Bechnan.

At 5-months old, Ranya was diagnosed with congenital heart disease.

She suffered from extreme breathlessness, turning blue, and chest pain. Congenital heart disease is a type of defect or malformation in one or more structures of the heart or blood vessels that occurs before birth.

Congenital heart disease is responsible for more deaths in the first year of life than any other birth defect.

On May 2, 2018, Ranya underwent life-saving heart surgery in Israel with her mother by her side. Although Marina was nervous for the surgery, she knows that she can trust the doctors here in Israel to save her daughter’s life. She is grateful that SACH has given her daughter a second chance at a healthy and happy life. While recovering at the SACH Children’s Home, Ranya took her first steps, with all her new friends by her side.
